Since 2009, I’ve been working in the interior design industry. I’ve interned for a hospitality design company, worked in various furniture and fabric showrooms, and been an interior designer for a design-build firm. I decided to hang out my shingle and launch m studio interior design in 2015. And now I get to do what I love best: Design homes that are totally customized to the clients I work with!
The Winter Las Vegas Market never disappoints, and this year was no exception!! The event was packed with inspiring finds and fresh ideas that I can’t wait to bring into my projects. But beyond the latest furniture trends and home decor inspiration, what I love most is how design continues to evolve to create more meaningful connections at home.
This year’s market was all about warmth, texture, and personality—furniture and decor that invites conversation, brings people together, and makes home feel truly special. Think burled wood with rich, organic movement, sculptural seating that doubles as functional art, and playful asymmetry that keeps things visually interesting. Of course, no trip to Vegas is complete without a little fun, so between sourcing the best new pieces, I made time for great food, great company, and even met my amazing virtual assistant Melissa in person for the first time!
Let’s dive into the top trends that stood out at this year’s Las Vegas Furniture Market and how they can make home an even better place to connect.
Burled wood was everywhere this year, and honestly, I’m obsessed. There’s something about its swirling, one-of-a-kind patterns that adds instant character to a space. Whether it be console tables, cabinetry, or even headboards, this gorgeous texture felt luxurious yet totally organic.
What I love most about burled wood is how it naturally draws people in. At Las Vegas Furniture Market, this trend was everywhere, proving that organic textures are here to stay. It’s a conversation starter, a unique statement in any room. And because no two pieces are exactly alike, it adds a level of personality that makes a home feel truly custom. If you’re looking for a way to warm up a space and bring in natural movement, this is the trend to embrace.
At this year’s Las Vegas Furniture Market, seating was anything but basic. Chairs and sofas had a major personality, with curvy, sculptural shapes that blurred the line between furniture and art. It’s the kind of home decor inspiration that not only looks stunning but also makes you want to sit and stay awhile—perfect for creating cozy, welcoming spaces that encourage conversation and connection.
One standout piece at Las Vegas Furniture Market was a beautifully rounded lounge chair that felt like a hug the moment you sat down. And let’s be honest, in a world where we’re all glued to screens, a chair that invites real, in-person connection is a win. These statement seating pieces are not just about aesthetics; they create a sense of place, drawing people in for long, meaningful conversations.
Symmetry had its moment, but this year was all about breaking the rules. Asymmetrical tables, with their unexpected shapes and dynamic designs, were a huge highlight. From coffee tables with organic, off-kilter edges to dining tables with mixed-material legs, these pieces felt fresh and exciting.
What’s great about this trend is how it adds movement to a space. Many of the asymmetrical tables showcased at Las Vegas Furniture Market did just that—introducing unexpected shapes that make a room feel more dynamic. Instead of everything feeling perfectly placed, there’s a little bit of visual tension that keeps things interesting. It’s like an invitation to gather—whether it’s around a dining table that feels less formal or a living room arrangement that encourages a more relaxed, effortless flow.
Neutrals will always have their place, but this year, color made a serious comeback. One of the biggest interior design trends at the market was the rise of bold, statement-making casegoods. Think dressers, sideboards, and cabinets bursting with deep blues, rich greens, and even vibrant corals. And the starburst inlays? Absolutely stunning. These geometric, radiating designs added just the right amount of vintage-meets-modern charm, proving that personality-packed furniture is here to stay.
Adding color to a space instantly energizes it, making it feel more inviting and full of life. Las Vegas Furniture Market featured so many colorful casegoods, from jewel-toned credenzas to statement nightstands that truly popped. Whether you lean toward deep blues, rich greens, or vibrant corals, these pieces bring personality in a way that feels totally fresh.
Speaking of fresh, I came across an amazing feature on interior color trends that breaks down the shades we’ll be seeing more of this year. If you’ve been craving something beyond beige, you’ll love it!
Of course, a trip to the Las Vegas Furniture Market isn’t just about furniture. It’s about soaking up the city’s energy, indulging in incredible food, and connecting with my design community. My go-to hotel? Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. The interiors are nothing short of breathtaking—elegant, modern, and full of inspiration at every turn.
And let’s talk about food! I always make it a point to eat at Lotus of Siam (arguably the best Thai food in the country) and Battista’s Hole in the Wall, an old-school Italian spot that’s been around forever. Just like the best interior design trends, these restaurants blend tradition with a fresh, updated approach—creating spaces that feel both timeless and exciting. Good design and good food? The perfect pairing.
One of the biggest highlights of the trip to Las Vegas Furniture Market was finally meeting Melissa, my virtual assistant, in person! We’ve worked together for ages, but nothing beats real-life connection. Plus, catching up with my fellow designers and teammates always reminds me why I love what I do—design isn’t just about beautiful spaces, it’s about the people we create them for.
If this year’s Las Vegas Furniture Market proved anything, it’s that home design is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces that bring people together. Whether you’re drawn to the warmth of burled wood, the artistry of sculptural seating, or the personality of bold casegoods, there’s a trend out there that can make your home feel more inviting, more intentional, and more you.
Xoxo,
Megan
