Minimalistic and carefully crafted, the homeowners desired an updated living and dining room to suit their lifestyle of comfortable lounging and light entertaining. Without drastic changes to the existing footprint, we designed a space tailored to their functional needs and mid-century modern appeal.
A monochromatic palette with pops of warm woods is implemented to complement the existing flooring and recently remodeled kitchen finishes of stained cabinetry and black counters. Creating emphasis, an accent wall clad in concrete-looking porcelain tile offers an anchor for the media components and allows for a better flow of furniture arrangement.
A clean-lined sectional sofa accompanied by Mies Van Der Rohe inspired ottomans address the clients’ seating requirements. Sleek, yet elegant shades adorn the windows while a Platner coffee table and abstract area-rug further define the space. A round mirror above the fireplace adds softness to the linear movement along the walls and a custom dry bar with high-gloss acrylic cabinetry is framed in wood to maintain a visual flow from the kitchen into the living room.
